Cedric enters the Jot ‘Em Down store to cheer up Abner since Lizabeth and little Pearl have come up missing. Abner makes plans to lay out the dragnet to cover as much territory as he can. What has Cedric brought, and what did Lum intend it for?
The phone keeps ringing, and the search party grows. More vittles and provisions are packed to handle the masses. When Lum arrives, he’s surprised to learn of the happenings.
To help settle Abner’s mind, Lum adds his part to the search party plans to the mountains. Will the Navy be joining the search? Abner gets confused over Lum’s pitch to support the Navy’s efforts in combing the seas for enemy submarines, and the need to donate binoculars.
