A typed letter with a typed signature is a message for trouble that takes Dan Holiday on his next adventure.
What Dan finds is a body in a hotel room, presumably his letter writer, and a thump on the head. The circumstantial evidence is stacked against Dan, and he’s in deep trouble with the local cops. Can Dan talk his way out of this one? An unexpected break, and a legal loophole gets him back on the streets. Who is Dan’s mysterious friend?
Philip Duvalle is the mysterious lawyer who helped, and claims to be the letter writer to Dan, but his was never sent, wasn’t typewritten, and he is a former lover of the dead woman. Suspicions arise that the man could be the killer, with jealousy for his motive. When Duvalle turns up dead, it sends signals to Dan that let him know who the killer is.
Now it’s back to the hotel to gather the remaining players together and confront the killer. Will Dan’s evidence hold water, or will he be bluffing his way through? What tipped him off to the killer? Just as importantly, can Dan survive to live another day?
