Lum and Abner – Store Is Full Of Owls. 420602

A black-and-white photo of Lum and Abner. Lum is on the left and has wavy hair and a mustache. He's wearing a suit and tie, and looks amused or curious. Abner is on the right, has messy hair and a beard, with exaggerated, surprised expression. He's wearing glasses and a dark suit with a bow tie. The composition suggests a comedic setting.

Through a misunderstanding of Lum’s new business idea, the enthusiastic Abner has sent Cedric and Mousey out to fill the store with owls. Lum shares the details of a new order for the greeting card business. How will he take Abner’s surprise of the 14 owls in the feed room in the store?

Now that Abner can see the silliness of his idea, he tries to keep Lum out of the feed room. Will he get Lum to think the glowing eyes he sees looking at him from the darkened feed room are his imagination? When owls start walking out, it’s hard to keep up the charade.

As the gents shoo the birds out of the store with a broom, sister
Simpson phones in to cancel her order. Why would she do that? Lum explains to Abner as he clears the store of owls.
