After hearing grandpap recount the story of Aladdin and the magic lamp, and in light of the way Cedric has been spending money, Lum begins to think the lantern that Diogenes left has mysterious powers. Can Lum convince Cedric to trust the care of the lantern to him? The more Lum and Abner talk to Cedric, the more it sounds like the lantern could be a magical one. Still, Cedric is dedicated, and insistent on carrying it everywhere, as Diogenes told him to do.
Whatever the magic is, it isn’t working for Lum and Abner once they manage to protect the lantern for Cedric for a few moments. Is there a password, or something they’re forgetting to do?
