Mousey Gray is on hand with a payment of sausage to apply to the bill of a creditor. What’s the news that Diogenes has for friend Lum? Lum, the faithful harbinger of honesty has been asked to deliver a package of pamphlets to Ft Smith. Armed with a password, and a secret sign, the arrangements are made. As Lum wonders over the new details, he shares his travel plans with Abner. Well, as much as the secrecy will allow.
Is Lum getting in too well with Diogenes? Will Abner, or anyone else have a chance in the $10k reward? In all the excitement Abner discovers a mix up in the package that Lum raced out the door with.
