Fibber McGee And Molly – Escaped Convicts – Fibber Joins a Posse. ep498, 470107

A black and white photograph of Fibber McGee and Molly, a couple from a popular radio show of the same name. They are standing in front of a closet that has been opened, with clothes and other items spilling out onto the floor. Fibber is holding a mop and wearing an apron, while Molly looks on with a smile on her face. The overall effect is one of humor and domesticity, with the couple's playful antics and cluttered living space providing a snapshot of life in mid-century America in 1948.

Word comes in that a criminal is on the loose in Wistful Vista, and Fibber is torn between joining the posse, or staying home to protect his lovely bride. Wallace Wimple pops in to tell how he’s determined to go out and do some bird watching, putting his bird book to good use. Radio reports call for citizens to join the search party. Will Molly want him to be brave and do his civic duty? Where will Fibber find his gun to join the search. Maybe it’s in the closet? Billy Mills plays, Canadian Capers.

As Fibber continues to debate over how he should serve, Doc Gamble visits. Fibber and molly ask him about his dating relationship with Fifi Tremaine. Might there be wedding bells for him soon? Radio reports bring crazy announcements, even Harlowe Wilcox on every channel doing the sponsor commercial. With a $10K reward, Fibber is mobilized into action.

Teeny pops in, but the danger on the streets is a little different when seen from her perspective. She also proves to be a little less innocent and unsophisticated than Fibber might expect on matters of crime, gangsters, and cops. The Kingsmen sing, My Pretty Girl.

Fibber wants to be prepared, and goes over his list of armament before reluctantly leaving Molly alone. Or at least he would if Mayor Latrivia hadn’t popped in. What does the mayor know about his police force at work? Will Fibber overcome his fear, and actually join the mayor in leading the cops on their manhunt? What late breaking news reports will the radio bring about the criminal in town?
