As we join Casey and Ann on a wintery street on the way to their next job, they witness what they first think is a joke. A man known for his outrageous stunts, and known as the life of the party is seen leaving a house with a knife in his chest. The man of the house, Higgins doesn’t seem concerned, and when laughter breaks out, we know it was all just a gag. Inside, Casey meets the rest of the eccentrics, and even one who is a known gangster who has clashed with Casey in the past. Amid the pranks, and conversation, will Casey ever get his interview that he came here for? There’s plenty of gossip to pick up on so listen close.
When one of the pranks turns out to produce a real life, dead body, Casey gets the cops involved, and the only certain thing is that the killer is one of the guests, and they’re still in the house. There’s that suspicious gangster, and the matter of a large sum of missing money, but could there be other motives? What else might be missing? Who else had a reason for the crime?
Hash out the clues with the cops, then take a trip with Casey to the Blue Note. Ethelbert shares an idea after Casey and Ann ponder the clues. Casey thinks he knows, but needs some alone time to arrange a trap to get some solid evidence. Listen in and you should have a good idea of who it was too. Right after a last commercial, Casey relaxes in the Blue Note to tell Ethelbert and Ann what tipped him off.
