Fortunes in the textile industry have been built by the strange, and now deceased Mr Harwell. Johnny is soon on the scene in the huge mansion, to oversee the reading of the will. Death by poisoning has alerted the suspicions of the insurance company to possible fishy circumstances. How trustworthy are the household servants? Is there any bad blood among the surviving family members? Gretchen Nielson is easy on the eyes, but apparently never a favorite of the deceased Amelia. Will reports from the coroner, or interviews with the other heirs turn up any clue on a possible motive?
There’s just as much reason as not to suspect the death was of innocent motive, but clues at the crime scene, and forensic evidence doesn’t add up for Johnny. Family skeletons begin to emerge from closets. When more attempts of poisoning take place, Johnny has to revisit his cast of characters to listen for hints at hard evidence of who the killer is.
