Little Orphan Annie – Testing For Diamonds. ep1538, 1936

The image is a colorful, minimalist illustration of a dog with a light green head, white body, and black spots. The dog's ears are dark red, its nose is black, and its tongue is red, hanging out to one side. It has large, round white eyes with a black dot in the center. The dog is sitting upright with a lifted paw and a curved black tail. The background is solid blue.

Back in their old camp, Annie and her friends are working on their radio transmitter. Saunders is impressed with the diamonds that were presented as part of the cloaks that Annie and Joe received as queen and king of the island. Blimy! Should he give Joe some instructions in being king?

Saunders is also impressed with the value of the diamonds in the cloaks. Will they prove even more valuable in making the radio work? A true test is to see if they are hard enough to cut glass. If only there was some glass on the island to cut.

Annie has to admonish Saunders for his greed. He also apparently in a missing episode, tried to steal some gold from the Silo’s. It doesn’t do any good in being rich in diamonds, if there isn’t any place on the island to spend it. What matters most is being able to find enough food to eat, not to mention getting that radio working.
