Performed for the Seabees at Camp Russo, California. Kaye jokes about the nightspots, and social life of the Seabees, chasing girls, and the commanders at the base. A guy named Bertie joins in with the fun.
Kaye and the band play a tune to set the mood for the game show. Then his vocalist sings, Goodnight Sweet Dreams Sweetheart.
Round 1 of the quiz begins, with questions aimed to fill in the blanks. Musical clues help tell the story.
The Town Cryer’s spend a few moments cutting up with Kaye, before they sing, The Hills of Idaho. The second round begins, and the questions are still just as humorous, and the hints are still bordering on giving the answer away.
Kaye and the band play a swinging version of, Minuet in G.
The final exam in the Kollege of Musical Knowledge kicks off, and a single question is given. The first to ring and answer correctly gets the grand prize. If neither answer it, the prize rolls over to the next show.
Note: This is a show that clearly comes later during the wartime era. At least some of the troops have just returned from 19 months of island hopping, so it can’t be before mid to late 1943, and most probably later than that. Also, the cash prizes are larger, in addition to the war bond prizes. There are also some musical hints from the Hit Parade to help figure out what year the show is from, but I don’t have Hit Parade info handy at this time.
