Great Gildersleeve – Gildy Sues Bullard. 490525

He is standing in front of a plain background, with his hands in his pockets. Peary was a comedian and actor, best known for his role as "The Great Gildersleeve" on radio and television in the 1940s and 1950s. The photograph conveys a sense of classic Hollywood glamour and style.

Special guest tonight is Kay Star.

As Gildy pulls into his driveway, he gives neighbor, Bullard the right of way. In a moment of double politeness, Bullard takes the opportunity to pull into the drive first, and insult Gildy. Leroy enters crying after a run in with Craig Bullard. The battle of words boils into a faceoff between Bullard and Gildersleeve when a law suit is threatened.

As a break in the routine, and at popular requests Harold Peary sings, Cruising Down the River.

Back in character, Gildersleeve consults Judge Hooker about his case. The judge can’t act as Gildy’s lawyer, since he’ll be the judge trying the case. Can Gildy sway the judge in his favor? Is it too late to make amends, and settle out of court?

Floyd offers Gildersleeve the advice to plead his own case. What he needs at the least are some good character witnesses. Simple, right? Will Peavey stick up for his good friend?

Another break in the routine finds popular singing star of the day, Kay Star on hand to sing her current top hit, How It Lies.

With nerves on edge, Gildy practices his arguments at home, but will he ever be prepared for the trial? His day in court arrives, and the decision is… I’m not saying, so listen to see how it shakes out. Just when it looks worst though, there’s a big dramatic courtroom turn around. It does go in Gildy’s favor, right?
