At a big, swanky, New York party, a man and woman go off together for a quiet moment on their honeymoon. As the man goes to make a phone call to his mother, his bride is attacked. The groom takes his story to Mr Keen.
After questioning the young groom, Mr Keen learns of some possible suspects, and that the girl had been treated for her nerves and being run down. When the man leaves, a phone call comes in that sheds some light that the groom may be telling lies. He stands to inherit big bucks after the death of his bride.
Mr Keen talks with the brides brother and his wife. Though there are some hostile feelings here, Mr Keen goes back to clear up some matters with the grieving groom. The plot thickens when the grooms mother is interviewed. Hmm… I think somebody needs to cut some apron strings, and let their little baby boy go.
Mr Keen sees through her hysterics and confronts her with trying to protect her son, but from who? Did he kill his own bride? Did his mom? Who else might have done it to set up the young groom?
Through it all, Mr Keen gets a key piece of evidence that will lead him to the murderer. The ball bounces back into the court of the brother and his wife. Mr Keen explains it all and exposes the killer, and why they did it.
