The banking commission had informed Lum and Abner they were operating a bank without a charter, and ordered them to close business. As the e bus x-ray-bankers clothes away the last remnants of their financial institution, they get rid of all the banking artifacts. They discussed the problem of the hole in the floor caused by their safe falling through it. Should the clothes their banking accounts at the county seat, and just keep their personal funds in the safe?
Abner is eager to tear down the partition that set the bank aside from the store. Lum wasn’t in such a hurry, and thinks you’ll find a use for it. Abner figures that could make a good train depot, although there is no train that runs to Pine Ridge.
Lum brings up an old Edward sayings about taking the mountain to Mohammed. Abner begins to guess the reasons why Mohammed would need to be in the mountains. What would he be looking for their? Maybe he is just too old to climb over the mountain. Abner volunteers to take Mohammed on a hunting trip.
