It’s a typical night at the Blue Note when Casey enters to talk with Ethelbert, and his Spring Day in the park with Ann Williams. A face in the crowd is recognized as a thug who was involved in a murder of a jockey. Is there anything there to be concerned about? Later Casey is approached by a woman with a problem. The Pick up, or prostitute in more modern terms claims to be a girlfriend of a highly placed mobster. Her inside scoop gets Casey moving on an investigation. While sharing details of the case with Ann Williams, Casey gets word that Edith, the pickup girl, has been murdered.
After another murder, the cops get involved, but so do the gangsters who want to keep things quiet, and avoid a jail sentence. It takes another trip to the Blue Note, and casual conversation to relax the brain, and become inspired with the answer to solve this mystery. Danger is close by when gunshots ring out. Casey is shot, but is he dead? Don’t worry, Casey not only solves the case, but explains it all in the end.
Note: Audio quality is excellent. The production has a little different feel to it, less sound affect, and the audience seems to be interacting more than is typical. Almost as if it were in a small venue, done for a small audience.
