A few weeks of pass, and Jake Bloom is becoming more comfortable with his new movie studio business. He and Becky look forward to a quiet night at home. Becky complains when Jake slips off his shoes. They’re so big that it’s almost like someone else taking almost everything off. Becky is concerned about appearances of what it would look like if someone should come in about now.
Jake has the house looking all messy with coat, newspaper and hat tossed everywhere. Is Jake gaining weight, or is his clothes just shrinking?
Becky remarked that when they go out, they behave for the sake of other people. So, staying at home, it’s okay to have a fight. She can be comfortable, and just be herself. Jake tells how Sydney and Harold handle the production at the movie studio. Jake has decided to keep his mouth closed until he learns more about it.
Becky complains about Jake’s cousin Mo, and the crazy inventions he comes up with for Jake to finance. Jake tries to read the funny papers, but Becky wonders why he isn’t laughing.
Jake has his newspaper interrupted when Becky wants to talk about relatives, and her rival from their past, Ida Goldfarb. Jake isn’t reading the paper fast enough for her, and she is forced to read the article on the opposite side of it.
