The Bloom family have arrived safely in Hollywood, and have rented an apartment in Hollywood. Their children Sally and Yetta have rented their own apartments with their husbands, Sydney and Harold. Jake and Becky Remarque on the unusual beds that go up on the walls, and palm trees outside. Becky tries to convince Jake to dress up, but he doesn’t want to be stylish on his vacation. Although Jake is slightly annoyed at having to spend his time with his sons-in-law, Becky reminds him of their good fortune at being where they are.

Sally and Yetta stop by to pick up their parents as they begin their trip to the studio. Sydney and Harold have gone on ahead to do some shopping.

The girls worried that it will be difficult to get into the studio, but mama assures them they were invited. Sure enough, the movie director of the Indian picture greets them. Becky gets confused over some of the movie jargon that man uses. Jake is fascinated by the business and of making movies. The girls are worried that their husbands haven’t shown up yet. When they watch the daily rushes, they figure out where Harold and Sidney R.
