Note: If the term, ‘Navy Day’ simply refers to a show being dedicated to the Navy, the date could be anytime. If it refers to the Official Navy Day, as it was put into place by the Navy League in 1922, then this show aired on Oct 27, probably in 1942 or 43.
An attempt to move Navy Day to Armed Forces Day in May was never fully supported, and the Navy League doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense, so the order wasn’t relevant. Later, the Department of Defense tried to work with the Navy League to move Navy Day to Oct 13, the birthday of the Continental Navy in 1775, but Oct 27 is still recognized as well.
