In that far flung, futuristic year of 1990, a couple of businessmen meet in a bar after work to discuss their married life. How does Walter manage to maintain his happy marriage? Let’s ride along with Henry and welter to his house to find out.
welter has a duplicate robot of himself named B2. Actually, it’s a marionette, although it’s against the law to duplicate a human. Walter is desperate though, and his wife is the clingy kind who has to be in touch with him every moment of the day. These marionettes are safe, aren’t they? They do whatever they’re told, right?
For now, we shift gears to see how henry is faring with his clingy wife. I think a good marriage counselor would be better, but Henry breaks down and goes to get his own marionette. Twists to the plotline emerge when the robot runs away with Walter’s wife, and Henry’s wife runs off with his bank account.
To say more might give away too much of the plot. Listen in to see if man triumphs over machine, or if machines will win the day. A secret is revealed when there’s a scuffle with the marionette maker. Henry and Walter learn a lesson, but is it already too late?
PS: I always get a kick out of shows that present far-flung years that have gone by decades ago in our real time past. They always seem to portray social life as much the same as the era they were written in, but over portray the advances in technology. This show is no different, social customs lifestyle, and economic situations seem stuck in the past, but robots and rockets are the norm. Hey, don’t you remember those rocket trips we used to make back in the 90’s? Didn’t everybody have their own personal robot clone?
