In trying to restock the Jot ‘Em Down store with fresh merchandise, the guys are having trouble with coming up with cash. Cedric stops in trying to sell some fresh eggs. Though his reputation is a village idiot, Cedric has a practical wisdom. Haggling begins, but Cedric holds out for a cash sale of his eggs, and ends up as becoming the new Vice President of the store.
When Lum compares the situation at the store to a leaking ship, Abner gets confused at the figure of speech. In the process of events, Abner has somehow ended up with 10 rabbits, and a mule when he tried to collect on debts.
