The glamor of being on the radio is sucked dry by a marriage to Tisha and her money. Roger learns that she plans to leave him, and now nothing matters but his hatred and desire to kill her. He has felt abused for so long that it’s no longer a matter of why, but how to go about killing her.
Roger plans to blame the murder on a serial killer, and he works out how he can get an engineer to play a recording of him over the air while he’s out doing the deed. Soon all that remains is to work out when to pull it off. Having a good rapport with police detectives also helps iron out the details.
The pieces all fall into place. Nothing could be more ideal than working with the tight timetable of radio broadcasting as an alibi. Will Rogers story hold together?
There’s a loos thread that the Whistler holds that stands to unravel everything Roger worked so hard to weave together.
