Our little fib prone girl overhears part of the conversation, and the rumors begin to fly of the love triangle between the three, and all sorts of scandal. Lies are told, lives are ruined, who can be trusted? When the old matriarch of the town is confronted, she just doesn’t believe their story.

When the scandal has caused all the ruin it can, the doctor and Karen decide to leave town and start a new life elsewhere. The good news is that the old matriarch finally is shown the error of her ways, and she believes that the source of the lies has been exposed. The apologies come too little, and too late. Will these young lives be resilient enough to recover? Can some kind of justice be done?
