Preparing for his big movie premier, Jack gets packed for the trip to New York. Rochester sings as he works, and reveals secrets on Jacks fashion techniques. Mary Livingstone arrives to tease Jack about his old travelling days in vaudeville. Mr. Billingsley makes an appearance and wackiness.
Dennis Day sings, You Shouldn’t Let Me Dream. As the gang make their way to the train station, Mary reveals the secret of Jack’s generosity. The movie studio is covering expenses. A stop for drugstore supplies finds Jack facing an overly enthusiastic foreign speaking salesman.
Phil Harris plays some travelling music, and the gang arrives at the train station. To see Dennis off, his mother has instructions for Jack to take care of her boy. With the instructions and piling expenses, Jack needs to pay attention or he could miss a train.
Note: The old freight company worker is Elliot Lewis. At the same time, he was on the Burns and Allen show as the overly educated soundman. Rochester makes a reference to African Handball, slang for playing craps. Dennis’s mother is played by Verna Felton.
