after being introduced Don and Jack discuss the success of his latest picture. Mary arrives to set the story straight. He has been working as an usher in order to see his movie as much as possible. Jack turns the discussion to his movie reviews. When Phil Harris arrives, he and Jack discuss being hypnotized as well as Phil’s review in the movie. Dennis arrives and supports the idea that Jack had a job as a movie usher.
Before Phil can play, the phone rings with an interruption from the manager of a local theater. Phil and his band plays a tune, the woodpecker song.
Jack is impressed by the replacements and Phil’s band he acquired from Peter Van Seaton. Jack gets up a surprise when Peter is on hand for a visit. The two bandleaders seem to be cut from the same cloth and their style of humor. Dennis arrives and gets into an argument over the girls that he and Jack are dating. Mary gives some insights about Jack’s skill with the ladies, and avoiding fancy nightclubs. In interruption brings a loyal fan to admire Don Wilson. Isn’t he the same fan who was Jack’s fan from last week? After the quick commercial its time for Dennis to sing, say it over again.
Jack learns that Rochester has gone on the Fred Allen show to discuss his private life behind his back. Mary phones Rochester to interrupt his celebration in Harlem. Jack finds himself talking to Rochester’s friend, Eddie green. What will Rochester have to say for himself? It looks like the gang will be in New York for one more performance, but it’s time for Don to close the show with the commercial. Good night, Joni and be a good little girl.
