When a department store is robbed of 85 mink coats, Johnny is on the scene to investigate. He arrives in time to converge with reporters and cameramen for the aftermath of the spectacular shooting. Johnny gets to question the hard-boiled crooks, but he comes away with a whole lot of nothing.
The stakes get raised when the body count rises, and the crimes all appear to be related. Johnny has been going full bore along with the cops, and he’s nearly at his end of endurance, when a hot tip gets him fired back up. Johnny moves from hard core street thugs to high class country clubs, but is he any closer to solving this case?
A climax is reached when Johnny has uncovered a smuggling operation. There’s no time to delay. Johnny throws himself into danger and calls on the cops later. He fills in the details as he turns the bad guys over to the cops, and puts the finishing touches on his expense report.
Note: I know someone who is an insurance investigator. He assures me that his job is nowhere nearly as adventuresome as Johnny Dollars. Really? Maybe he just isn’t working for the right company.
