In order to rescue Santa Claus from being kidnapped, Jonathan Thomas and his new friends have had to face the witch of Rumple stitch. She has tossed a lot of trouble their way, but charms have been granted to overcome each obstacle along the way. As whiskery Bill the squirrel tries to bring back the red red rose, he finds that the ice-covered river has cracked, and he can’t swim. Still, swimming is just the thing that walruses do. Sir Algernon the walrus has caused the witch to find new evil spells to cast. The red rose does its magic, and Jonathan is awakened from the cave of dreams. For now, all the witch can do is make threats as Jonathan and his friends continue their march.
