It was just a letter from a kid, but Dan Holiday still sees an adventure in it. At the kid’s request, and when the meeting is to go down, Dan gives the high sign so he can be identified, then meets with his young client in his tree house.

The kid has a friend who works at a local observatory, but there’s something wrong. The only person he can think of to offer him help is Dan. Thinking it’s just going to be harmless kid stuff, Dan is amused, and checks it out. What he finds is some rough types, and the business end of a gun. What kind of game is this? The professor at the observatory needs medical help, and with another scientist and Dan, they’re being held captive. Why? How can Dan contact the outside world, namely his client?

The thug, a desperate escaped convict, and his gal are hiding out. He’s on top of his game and catches all of Dan’s attempts to escape, or signal anyone. Might there be some secret code that Dan can use to alert his young client? Does the escaped convict plan to hold up in the observatory forever?

It’s a suspenseful situation, and a battle of wits that you won’t want to miss.
