In the novels and mystery stories, the murderer always seems to have a quirk, or characteristic that gives him away. In real life it can be hard to pick out who the killer is. A case in point is found in today’s episode. An unassuming man.

Careful scrutinizing of the amassed details turns up a few common threads, and the name of Carl, our unassuming man from earlier. The slim crack in the case is just the thing to reinterview witnesses, and refresh memories. The trail of new clues leads to a telegraph slip and a matter of differing handwriting on the slips that were supposed to be in the handwriting of the same person. Penmanship is different, as is the spelling.
Other odd clues are gathered, and the case is built against their man, but will it all be enough to bring up charges, or to prove the man is connected to the crime? In the end it will be a paper trail that ties up all the loose ends to make positive proof, but then there’s still the matter of our unassuming man who doesn’t seem to be a killer.
