Fibber McGee and Molly – Air Show Flying Fool McGee. ep482, 460604

A black and white photograph of Fibber McGee and Molly, a couple from a popular radio show of the same name. They are standing in front of a closet that has been opened, with clothes and other items spilling out onto the floor. Fibber is holding a mop and wearing an apron, while Molly looks on with a smile on her face. The overall effect is one of humor and domesticity, with the couple's playful antics and cluttered living space providing a snapshot of life in mid-century America in 1948.

In anticipation of the big aviation show, Fibber has become infatuated with reading magazines about flying. He shows off his new knowledge of technical jargon to Molly, but she’d rather keep her two feet firmly on the ground. Fibber and Molly get each other mixed up on airplane words, especially how to pronounce the word, helicopter. Wallace Wimple visits to talk about his new hobby of building model airplanes, and his latest marital problems with Sweetie Face. The Kingsmen sing, They Say its Wonderful.

Milliscent Carstairs visits to join the fun about aviation. What does she know about flying? Will she know how to pronounce helicopter? Harlowe Wilcox enters with a high flying theme on the commercial. Doc Gamble enters, but is less enthusiastic about going to the airport. He does better at poking fun at Fibber. Molly makes the boys act their age, which lasts as long as she can stand the sticky, sweet compliments. The Kingsmen sing, Old Dan Tucker.

At the airport, Fibber and Molly take in the sights, and learn about a new Army project, a radio controlled drone. Mayor Latrivia shows up to get his figures of speech tangled up by the McGees. Their friends show up to catch the show, and more of Fibber’s bragging. To prove himself, Fibber does some showing off, but isn’t it just that radio controlled drone? Will Fibber be in trouble for swiping it, or just get a surprise of his own?
