Devoted to fight for the weak and needy. When we last left Superman, he had taken on the challenge of being a one man army against the racketeers who are swindling Jimmy Olsen’s mom as well as all the shop owners in her neighborhood.
As she weeps at the ordeal, Clark Kent comes back and Mrs Olsen only wants him to stay out of it, and don’t take such risks. Clark presents her with $120 to return her protection money that he got back from Chip Donneli.
With his good deedd done, he thinks he can just walk away. Meanwhile, a couple of thugs talk about the job they are sent to do. When the house lights are turned offf, they go to kidnap Jimmy and his mom. A police car drives past, with sirens blaring. The stealthy thugs give the car the slip, but Superman apprehends them.
Clark then goes to make sure Jimmy and his mom are OK. They have had a close call, but are fine. Clark is impressed with their courage. He says he’ll go back to the newspaper to blast the news all over the front page, but he’ll send Lois Lane out to help them. Superman is beginning to se that he can’t hide from the public, and that he needs to take down the source of the gang.
In his hideout, Chip Donelli is filled in by his gang about the flying figure, and that Clark Kent, that nosey reporter is the one poking his nose into things. Donelli learns that Lois is now at Jimmy’s house. Seeing the connections, he calls the house as Clark Kent, and makes plans to cause trouble for our heros.
