As our story opens we find ourseles far from the doomed offices of the Daily Planet, which has recieved a bomb threat. Doctor Dahlgren talks with his assistant about his invention. The doc wants to use his ray gun for the powers of good, but little does he realize that the assistant who he is talking to is actually the Yellow Mask. Nothing can stop the Yellow Mask from stealing the atomic beam machine.
Back at the Daily Planet, Clark Kent reports to Perry White on the progress of the search of the building. Clark meets Lois for the first time. Skeptical reporter that she is. Using his super hearing, Clark suspects danger from a low flying airplane, but Lois brushes it off. Perry can’t be bothered, but brings them the story of Doctor Dahlgren, and sends Lois to investigate.
Meanwhile, not suspecting the two stories are related, Perry and Clark debate on how the Yellow Mask might destroy the building. Clark decides the attack should likely come from outside, from that low flying airplane. Springing into action as Superman, he flies off to patrol the skies.
Will he be successful? That’s an answer for the next exciting installment of Superman.
