It’s the special kind of quiet Sunday that Henry liked to look forward to. His wife Ruth would be away at their country cottage, and he would be free to visit Daffnie. He just doesn’t want Daffnie to meet him at home, for fear the neighbors would see her and talk. Why has she come to the house? Daffnie is tired of getting his left over attention, andwants him to spend more time with her. Suddenly, Ruth has come home to demand that Henry spend more time with her, and come to the country home. Will Henry side with Daffnie, and put his foot down and suggest they divorce? With both of his women there to confront him, there’s sure to be a murder.
After the burst of rage, Henry panics, but how well can he trust Daffnie? They conspire to cover up the matter as they go over the events of the day. According to Ruth’s story, nobody saw her return home, and nobody knows she left the lodge. Can they stage her body at the lodge to make it look like the accident happened there? What story will Henry come up with to prove where he was all day?
The juggling act of taking Ruth back to the lake house, and getting a friend to be his alibi gets tricky. While he’s about to make his break to set up his alibi, and meet up with Daffnie to finish the trip for the body disposal, he gets a flat tire. How can he change his flat tire without his friend opening the trunk, and finding Ruth’s body? What other problems will arise? Somehow Henry meets up with Daffnie,a and they arrive at the lodge.
The cover up is all in place, Henry and Daffnie enter the darkened cottage with the dead Ruth, and then… well, let’s just say they get a surprise that changes everything.
