Alice has finally forced Phil to sit down to take care of his accumulated mail. To handle the piled up work load, Alice reveals her plan to hire a secretary, and Phil’s actual first name. An argument ensues over to hire a young female secretary, or an efficient old man. Alice sings, Rain, Rain, Rain.
When a guy named Sweeney comes calling, Phil and Remley try to get rid of him, but will Alice catch on? Is Alice up to some sneaky plan of her own? Phil sings, Give Me that Old Time Religion.
Sweeney isn’t going away easily. When Phil’s female candidate for the job enters, Frankie intercepts her. Just whose side is he on anyway? Will the cute thing with no qualifications, other than filling out her bathing suit quite nicely, get the job? What will Alice have to say about this? Phil may have hired her, but Alice lays down the duties of the job. It looks like the efficient old man may get to start work afterall.
