After a late night of partying, Phil and Remley stagger home at the crack of dawn. Fearing the wrath of Alice, they sneak in a basement window, and break the furnace in the process. Instead of getting a little rest, interruptions come from Willie, the girls who decide to play cowboy through the house, and Alice as she does the vacuuming. Will Phil’s buttering up get him out of trouble with Alice? Not if Frankie can help it. As the guys scramble to cover their furnace fiasco, Alice sings, I’ve Got a Crush on You.
In the basement, Frankie gets in some good jokes as he complains about Phil’s marriage, and being pushed around by Alice. To fix the furnace, Frankie knows a guy… Not falling for Frankie’s underhanded friends, Phil finds his own place for parts. A war surplus store. To improve the furnace performance, Phil has a wind tunnel to replace the broken blower. Just in time, and as if on cue, Julius visits to add to the mishaps. As Julius and Frankie install the furnace while Phil sings, Chattanooga Shoeshine Boy.
After a little fun with Julius to act as a test dummy, it doesn’t go so well when Alice enters the scene.
PS: It just goes to show that Tim Allen isn’t the only guy who wants to add horsepower to his home improvement projects. And Phil is just as prone to accidents and mishaps as well. Poor Alice.
