Lum and Abner – Many Suspects in Stolen Money. 480615

Two men dressed in traditional Hawaiian attire, Lum and Abner, are seen mid-dance in the center of a small store. Lum, on the left, is playing a ukulele while Abner on the right is swaying his hips and waving his arms. A small crowd is gathered around them, some clapping and others smiling. The store itself is cluttered with various items, including shelves of canned goods and hanging clothes, giving it a cozy and lived-in feel.

Money has been missing from the circus wagon, and today we find Squire Skimp trying to convince Lum of his innocence. The safe is in the wagon where Lum and Abner sleep, but who has access to the wagon during the day? Who may know the safe combination?

The wagon is always either locked, or left with a guard. Squire is shocked to learn that Zenora’s brother has been left in charge. Lum has his reasons for trusting the man.

Is Lum sure he put the money in the safe? Might Zenora be to blame? Abner enters as Squire leaves, and the focus shifts a little as Lum shares how he feels for Zenora. Does Cedric know about the theft? For somebody who doesn’t know anything about it, Cedric sure knows a lot… even the safe combination.
