A vicious criminal has set up his narcotics operation in town. Joe Friday knows who he is, but he has to get proof to haul him in. Joe makes a phone call to tell his worried mom about the dangerous mission he is about to go on, and that he’ll be alright. He surrenders his badge and identification as a cop so he can go undercover.
Months go by as Joe plays the tough guy to blend into the gang. In voiceover, he tells all about it.
Hard work has paid off, and Joe poses as a big time buyer from San Fransisco, all the while getting closer to the big fish, and turning over a few small fries along the way. A sting operation is set to go down, but there’s still danger, logistic snags, and someone higher in the heroine ring to bring down.
