Mr French has a problem. The manager of a messenge service has had a message about murder, and George goes to help him track it down. It involves 4 survivors of a prisoner of war camp. One is a coward, and all are dealing with the business of mental troubles related to their wartime service, and in getting settled back into society.,
George investigates, but his biggest clue comes from the words of a dead man. Who is Martinez, and what does he have to do with the story? Who is the coward, and why does a killer want him dead? Can George figure this mystery out before the body count rises any higher?

PS: I really enjoyed the acting, I really enjoyed the mystery, but there’s just something that doesn’t sit well with me in the way the topic of veteran prisoners of war are handled. Certainly mental issues are going to be present, but I don’t think the writers of the story had a real grasp on what kind of mental problems such veterans deal with. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the type of mental illness in the story may make for a good story, but doesn’t quite match reality.
