A spirit of peace is held, despite the alert of fires from bombs. Christmas celebration is even held among the firefighters in London, and well wishes are shared to loved ones. It’s the first time some of the firemen have been away from family at Christmas.
Men and women alike share encouraging words for family and friends. Proof of the adaptability of the British citizens. Making the best of it, and not killing the spirit of Christmas. In the living quarters of the firefighters, wooden bunks are decorated for the season. Descriptions of how they are celebrating with each other, and the new family of others who are in the same situation.
There may be more elaborate parties, but none as filled with the holiday sspirit as in the underground bunker. The scene on the ground may look like burned out buildings, with shattered windows, but the celebration can’t be stopped. A few feminine tips are shared to nmake the holiday meal and preparations special.
A message from the king is shared, with all the fanfare due to the nature of the office.
Well wishes are given to each family as they celebrate warmly in their homes. The king extends encouragement to families who have had homes broken as men fight on various fronts. He aAcknowledges the harshness of modern war, but extends hope to loved ones. Wishing every happiness that Christmas may offer, and happiness to come in the new year.
There’s a call for unity while facing hardship and discomfort. Enduring to the end, and into victory. Thinking less of self, and more of others. Without under rating the coming difficulties, the king wishes for a happy Christmas and an even happier new year. For justice, and peace.
