Connie tells about the hypertensive Mr Conklin, and the assignment he gave to her. Mrs Davis sticks up for Connie, and feels she should be paid for the extra work. As Walter drives Miss Brooks to school he has also noticed that Connie is overworked, and offers his advice and opinions on the subject.
Meanwhile, Mr Conklin has recruited his daughter Harriot to help do some cleaning chors in the office. He complains that he has a problem with faculty being stolen away by a rival school. Frank Nelson, as the rival school principal is out to swipe an English teacher from the school. Even naming Connie Brooks as his target. When Connie is just beligerant enough, Mr Conklin turns on the charm, thinking she is being lured away. Does it work? Has he convinced her to stay, or does she just think he wants more work out of her?
Connie ponders over Conklins behavior as she goes to enjoy a nice school cafeteria lunch with Mr Boynton. When Boynton has to run off, the rival principal brings in a ringer, a man who is a real charmer. He approaches Connie and turns on to her romantic side. Will she melt under the attention, and strokes that Mr Hastings layers onto her?
Meanwhile, in Conklins office, the task he has for Boynton to do is to turn on any charm he may have in his body to entice Miss Brooks to stay. Can Boynton be romantic? He puts on the tough guy, detective act for her. Suddenly the cards are all on the table when the rival, his charmer, Conklin, and Boynton all tell Miss Brooks their intentions. She has heard the offers, and makes her own demands. Will she stay or will she go?
