On a quiet evening in Blair hospital, Doctors Gillespie and Kildare live dangerously by playing a round of checkers. Before they get too involved though Dr Carew approaches them with a matter of a missing boy. The worried parents of the teenage boy share some of their son’s odd behavior. Hmm… teenagers who sneak out of the house, say they’ll be at one place, but can’t explain why they’re somewhere else? What’s unusual about that? Wouldn’t the kid be abnormal if he didn’t do those things?
At any rate, it isn’t the ideal, desireable behavior, so Doc Kildare is on the job to soothe worried minds. The police actually find the boy, but it’s Kildare who gets to the root of a medical problem. Amnesia has an over used reputation in fiction stories, movies, and radio shows, but today Kildare gets a look at a real case of it, and we get the chance to see what it’s affects are actually like. What brought it on? How are the various psychosumatic symptoms that Phil is displaying related?
Under hypnosis, secrets of a past trauma emerge. Extreme guilt, confusion about tragic memories, fear, terror, and events beyond control have all led to the situation. Will hypnosis unlock those hidden secrets, and set Phil back on track for a normal life?
