The beginning of a special run of Amos and Andy episodes. A double feature that starts with Amos and Andy trying to make sense of the political parties in the upcoming election of 1928. They also try to make sense of the candidates that are running that year. Original air date: 07-17-1928.
Early episodes didn’t have theme music, and ran on a daily basis. The following featureis from the first season that Amos and Andy aired a half hour show. By this time the shows were produced with slick theme music, sponsors, and additional voice actors to handle more of the character voices.
In this episode, Kingfish and Sapphire have transitioned from happy newlyweds, to a tired old married couple. Sapphire doubts that she would make the same decision to marry Kingfish if she had it to do over again,. When they find out the pastor who married them was a phoney, they get the chance to be free, 20 years of marriage is over.
The musical guest, Mystic Knights of the Sea Quartet sing, Choo Choo Polka. Kingfish consults his friends for courtship advice to get Sapphire back, since he’s out of touch with modern methods. All the romantic ways are off when Sapphire has a date, and makes Kingfish jealous.
