Don flashes back to the day before where we find Rochester doing some Spring cleaning in Jack’s attic. The temptation is too great, and Rochester reads some old love letters written to Jack. Jack joins Rochester and does some looking through an old photo album. He talks about his old violin teachers, some childhood memories, and his old house in Waukegan.
The memories are interrupted when cast members begin arriving for rehearsal. Dennis tells about catching a gopher out of his yard, and slams Jack for his lack of a sense of humor. After sharing some family secrets, Dennis sings, I Fall Asleep Counting My Blessings.
Jack’s secretary, Miss Diamond, comes over in a bare midriff outfit. As Jack is chewing her out for her casual appearance, Mr Kitzel phones in to tell about how he was recently abducted, and about his new job in making Westerns.
Don is next to pop in with the Sportsmen. Even Don is dressed up for the season as he tells Jack about his morning on the golf course. Dennis and Miss Diamond want to get started, but Rochester says the scripts haven’t arrived yet. Just then Jack’s publicity man, Steve, arrives with his latest idea to enhance Jack’s image. What Jack needs is a new publicity stunt, what about buying a baseball team? Jack gives him the OK, and Steve rushes out to find a team to buy.
Jack gets on the phone to check on his missing scripts as he hums a baseball tune, then gets the telephone operators, Mable and Gertrude. The gals talk about Jack’s adlibbing abilities, and dating Jack. Their discussion of Jack’s kissing expertise is broken up by Jack breaking back into the line. In his house, Steve has the news, Jack just bought a girl baseball team.
