Job shuffling is the name of the game after grandpap became Lum’s personal secretary. Abner is now the new telegraph boy, and Lum has to tend to the store all by himself. US Quincey is on hand for a Lumburger, and doc Withers adds his own absent minded input.
The overworked Lum has put Ben Withers to work doing dishes, and frets under the load of work. Meanwhile, Abner swings in as free as a bird as he swaps the telegrams for tips. Can he convince Abner to come back? He only hired grandpap to keep from having to pay tips to him, but now Lum can’t get a lick of work out of him.
