Still looking for a specialty for his restaurant menu, Lum wants to cook a duck for Duncan Hines when he visits. Both Lum and Abner get confused about lighting food on fire when it’s served. Do they roll those crepe things up and smoke them like a cigar? What does it mean to roast a duck with truffles? Is that like putting those little pants on lamb chops?
Doc Withers enters with news from friends, and the clever things they say. Abner doesn’t know the people, though Doc thinks he ought to. Lum is preoccupied with perfecting his recipe as Doc rambles on.
Usually doc is missing animals, or other objects, but today he tells how he found the duck that Lum is waiting for. It was delicious.
