The idea for whaleburgers is tossed aside, but Lum is still determined to go into the restaurant business. Abner just wants to know where Lum plans to put the restaurant, then Ben Withers enters. His vetinarian business seems to be taking off.
What will Abner settle for in renting floor space to Lum for the diner? The absentminded Doc Withers seems to have misplaced a goat who walks with a limp. Doc’s interuptions disrupt the negotiation between Lum and Abner.
Will doc ever find that missing goat? With a half interest in the store, will Lum stop jumping on both sides of the negotiating table? Is the rent too high, or too low? Who will owe money for rent, and to who?
PS: The bit about the lost goat seems to be the source for running gags for the future.
