Lum is upset that his priority for his building project was turned down. If he were a war veteran he might qualify, a matter which leads into Lum talking about his war time service as Air Raid Warden. Abner contributes some of the mis adventures that must have taken place in the off the air life of Pine Ridge.
Cedric has returned to shop for his Spring shoes again. He’s at least ready for Abner to measure his feet for the right size.
Lum gets more bad news about his construction. Without having his priority, his contractors feel they’ll be losing money, and threaten to take legal action against him. When Mr Duncan phones, Lum expects the worst, but he has good news that he can get both a priority and a GI loan to pay for the place.
