Dennis opens with, Clancey Lowers the Boom.
A theatrical troupe is coming to town, and both Mildred and Mrs Anderson want to attend. Hey, Mildred claims to have been born in June, but in the recent October episode, she is having a birthday on Halloween.
Mrs Anderson gloats over her glory days as a former actress on the stage, and being in plays with the female star of the now performing theatrical troupe. After some buttering up, Dennis is sent to get tickets for the play.
Mr Anderson is less enthusiastic, since he is embarrassed over an incident where he sent some racy love letters to the lead actress while in his younger days. Now, he enlists Dennis to help get the letters back before Mrs Anderson learns about them. I feel a failed attempt coming on, but let’s not go there yet.
Dennis puts on some interesting impressions while he makes an attempt at being a Russian tallent agent. He reminds me an awful lot of Burt Gordon, the Mad Russian. As might be expected, the actress sees through him, and tosses him out.
Next, Mr Anderson and Dennis decide to do an act to perform in the revue. They decide to do a mind reading act. Will their attempt work? When their act fails, they sing a rendition of the Ink Spots, I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire. They figure that being part of the entertainment will put them in position to snag those incriminating letters. Will it work?
Will Mr Anderson survive facing up to Mrs Anderson? You know she’ll find out about them.
Dennis closes the show with a song, Am I All of Your Future.
