The scene opens with Cecil in his office, and grieving over jack’s continued request to be in a leading man role. At mary’s house, she and Jack discuss the topic of the part that never comes his way. How long can Cecil evade the issue? A challenge is set forth and if Jack can produce an original story in 24 hours, Cecil will make it into a film.
For inspiration, Jack goes to spend the night in a spooky old house. As the creepy, nutty, and just plain odd characters parade past jack, he and Mary joke their way through. Will Jack be inspired? Will Mary stick by him, or just act like her usual sarcastic self?
This is a spooky old house afterall. Will Jack and Mary find themselves in danger of some sort? Jack is supposed to be writing a serious, tough, romantic part for himself. Guns, money, gangsters, hermits, and more all creep into the story. How will Jack’s night of adventure wind up?
After an interlude with world famous violinist, Ephraim Zimblist, we’ll learn the exciting conclusion in the final act. In all the action and confusion, will Jack survive his night in the spooky house. Will he get his story written down for Cecil? What if the gangsters get away? What if the cops won’t believe Jack? Will Cecil be forced to produce it for Jack? You know what to do, listen in and learn. There’s some surprises, and plot twists awaiting.
