George and Liz Cooper are two people who live together, and like it. Liz talks about her new, skimpy bathing suit, but the conservative George has different tastes. The couple make plans to leave on vacation, and have their deliveries and other services cut off.
As a last minute concern, and to get some help from the neighbors, Liz drops in at the Stone’s residence. Mr Stone is Frank Nelson, and the neighbors try to get better acquainted. The Stones have a TV set that has the Coopers impressed. Of course in those days the programming was largely wrestling, and a few other skimpy assortment of choices. When the set goes out, the guys show their mechanical prowess and attempt to fix it. In the real world of early electronics, I can say with some certainty, it’s probably a blown tube, just look for the blackened one, but wait for it to cool off first. However, this is the world of radio comedy, and the set ends up being broken beyond repair, and the good neighbor policy falls into the dumpster.
The upset neighbors threaten a law suit, which will ruin the vacation plans to say the least. Liz isn’t very good at avoiding the process server, so she and George get to appear before the judge to explain themselves. Since both George and Mr Stone are representing themselves, it goes without saying they have fools for clients.
With the legal representation fairly level, Liz has her rehearsed script of the night’s events handy, but not quite memorized well enough. Amazingly, the courtroom scene drama comes out in her favor though.
