Dennis opens with the old classic, When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bobbing Along. Dennis has a new job, and is determined to be the best telegram boy that he can be. He gets messages mixed up with good comic affect.
In the mixup, Dennis bets on a horse by accident. Once Dennis discovers what he has done, and with Mrs. Anderson’s money, he tries to stop the bet from going through. Intermission., Dennis sings, Delores.
Dennis sweet talks his way into pretending to be a phone company operator to intercept the call for his bet. Then it’s off to impersonate a ticket agent at the train station. With a lot effort Dennis gets his way, although his success is questionable.
Great voice acting from Dennis. Gale Gordon is the bookie. The closing song is cut due to being over time for the program.
