Bob Merrek is a doctor, and Mrs. Hutchins is the grieving widow who was left little to live on with her embittered daughter. Through an ironic twist of fate Bob is left alive, while the beloved Dr. Hutchins has died. Can the family, and Bob move on after the tragedy? Relationships are strained, but circumstances thrust the lives of Bob together with the young widow.
Somehow, the cavalier Bob has learned a vformula for success. The concept of paying it forward. Will it be strong enough to counter the perpetual dark cloud that seems to follow Bob? After another tragedy, Mrs. Hutchins is struck blind.

When her case is hopeless, Bob offers to travel with her and describe the world to her. Can Bob ever reveal who he is? Will he need to?
